Rahsaan Patterson: Presenting Rahsaan Patterson
Here it is folks: Rahsaan Patterson’s Wine & Spirits. I am almost ashamed to admit that I have had this CD in my player for a couple of days now. I ‘m sorry but I’ve been listening to the Keite’s CD and Jill. I mean I can only swerve to one at time in order to really appreciate the artist and the lyrics. But I must admit, this 12 track disc is packed hard with banging cuts that are guaranteed to stir up some hot SUGAR. My sticky track has to be “Feels good”. It’s smooth like a good cognac and mellow like a fall breeze. The opening track “Cloud 9” is so funky and “Delirium” has the smell of a hit as well. They have the right mix of funk, jazz and old school R&B, and they really work together to balance each other. It looks like a smart move having them right after one another. When I heard “Oh Lord (Take me back)” I promise I felt a tear cascade down my cheek. WHEW! I feel this will be a great addition to any cd collection, and it is one that will get continuous play.
